Focused Intensity

"We should be intense, choosing not to live in our past, but only for what God has written about us"
~Kevin Zadai

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He
might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8

DISCUSSION:
While studying the character traits of Enoch, I saw that he had to be a very intense person to walk righteously in his time. So this week we will discuss the quality of intensity, which also encapsulates the word “focus”.

Every time the Lord appeared to me, He was always extremely intense, on task, and laser-focused. He carried Himself like a commander for He is the Commander of the Lord's army. He was full of great authority and completely in charge, yet He was very kind. Often times as church people, we do not fully grasp the fact that Jesus is literally the Head of the entire universe. He is God Himself, and yet He has compassion. He loves us and wants to be our Friend. It's difficult for us to assimilate all that; however, when I encountered Him, I saw all of those traits.

In the day that we live in, I feel that it is very important to understand that the Lord's personality is intense. This is the way He is. Jesus is very focused on what He wants, which is what His Father wants. He is intense about ensuring that we are able to obtain everything that we need while we're down here so that we may accomplish everything that the Spirit of God placed in our hearts. He makes all of this happen; however, He needs our cooperation.

o What is Jesus’ personality like?

DESTROYING THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL
Jesus's ministry was very forceful as He demonstrated great confidence in everything that He did. He drove out demons and was very aggressive against sickness. 1 John 3:8 shows this intensity that God had through Jesus Christ. This verse explains that whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil for he has been sinning from the beginning; the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. So here is a book written by John where he's talking to believers, the Church. He's saying that whoever is making a practice of sinning is of the devil. He is telling church people that if you are practicing habitual sin, you are doing the works of the devil, who made a practice of sinning from the beginning. Again, the reason that Jesus appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

It should be uncommon to think that the Church would have anybody habitually committing sin. This should seem foreign to believers knowing what God has done for us, that Jesus was sent to destroy the devil's works. It should be unheard of for any of us to practice sin habitually. Sin is the work of the devil. So if Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, then he came to destroy sin. We all need to have an intensity like Jesus, Who was extremely forceful against the enemy. He destroyed the devil and his works, literally making a show of him publicly on the cross (Colossians 2:15).

WE ARE OWNED BY GOD
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9 ESV

Here in 1 Peter 2:9, Peter is essentially expressing who we are in Christ, as well as Whom we are owned by.
Let’s look at the whole scenario in this verse:

• At the start, Peter states that we are a chosen race of people who are royalty, a priesthood, and a holy nation.

• We are called as a people who are owned by God.

• In other words, since we are God’s own Personal possession, we do not have our own rights anymore. We have been bought.

• We are meant to proclaim the excellency of the One Who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The revelation that we have now been called out of darkness into God’s bright marvelous light because we have been bought is very intense. I want to emphasize that we are a royal priesthood, God’s own possession. When I was on the other side, I saw that people were not choosing to be separate, which was profound to me. They did not grasp the fact that their lives and their bodies were not their own anymore. They really don’t have a say like they think they do. In essence, this is Peter’s intensity in expressing that we are separate, not part of the world. We are in God’s marvelous light, no longer in darkness, so we have been chosen not to sin or to partake of works of darkness. The intensity of what I saw in heaven needs to happen on earth. We have been called out of darkness; therefore, we are called to stand out and be separate, as the scripture says.

When I was studying the life of Enoch, I saw that he was extremely intense in his belief system because he saw exactly what was happening in the world. Did you know that Enoch actually prophesied the coming flood by naming his son “Methuselah”, which his means “his death shall bring” ? When Methuselah was born, God told Enoch that he would live until the flood. Specifically, He explained that the year that Methuselah dies would be when the flood comes. That's exactly what happened; the year of his death brought the flood. Methuselah lived 969 years, and then after he died, the flood came that very year (Genesis 5:21-7:6). This is all in history.

Enoch was very intense for he knew that according to God’s plans and purposes he had to be separate. He also knew that neither he nor Methuselah would be part of the flood. However, Noah was chosen to be alive at that time, and he is one of the only ones that made it on the ark. This is really amazing. You see, all of Adam’s descendants lived for extremely long periods of time since they were not limited like the rest of mankind was. After the flood, people’s lives were limited to 120 years (Genesis 6:3).

By the time of the flood, there were no righteous people left on the earth, except Noah and his family. The rest of humanity in that day and age had been corrupted in their genealogies, but Noah’s bloodline had not been infiltrated by the hybrid race that was on earth. So everyone died in the flood except for Noah and his family which means that only eight people were preserved. These were very intense times that they lived in.

Both Enoch and Noah were preachers of righteousness. They were very intense because they had to be separate from the corrupt world. Due to the perils of the time, they were forced to be this way; so are we in our present day.

THE PROCESS OF SEPARATION
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

We are separated because we have been bought. And the new creation that 2 Corinthians 5:17 is talking about here is the new birth, which is salvation or one’s spirit being born again. The process of separation starts right there, in your heart, then it's supposed to work out into your soul, which is your mind, will, and emotions, and then into your body.

Let’s examine the process of separation:

• Your spirit is born again instantaneously.

• You have to realize that your soul is not born again right away. Your mind and emotions will still have their own agenda at the start; therefore your mind must be renewed.

• Your body is certainly not born again, so it too will want to have its own way.

• Recognize that you have “two against one”, so there must be enough intensity in your spirit to surrender to God by saying “no” to what your soul and body want.

This is what I saw when I was in Heaven. This process of separation is not being taught. As Christians, we are supposed to have that intensity of the spirit where we can say no to ungodliness.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:11-13

In this scripture, Paul teaches us to say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions. If the apostles taught the people in Scripture, then it is for us too. So it teaches us to say “no”. Again, the separation has already happened in our spirit, but then we have to say “no” to our bodies. We still must say “no” to our minds, will, and emotions.
We must draw lines and be separate.

All of these patriarchs, the prophets, and generals of the faith, had this intensity about them. They weren't going to budge, and that's why they were so effective. 2 Corinthians 5:17 speaks about the new birth, explaining that the old has passed and the new has come. You can see that a clear line is drawn. We should be intense, choosing not to live in our past, but only for what God has written about us.

THE INTENSITY OF GOD
Let’s take a moment to examine the intensity of God in creation. Genesis 2:1-15 describes the whole creation process. Each day God is intensely creating, realizing His desire for the universe by making something out of nothing, culminating with the creation of man and woman. Afterward, He states that everything is perfect. This isn't just a casual series of events. Creation was very intense as God set His plans and purposes in place.

Think about the fact that God has plans and purposes; He established systems as He intended them to be. He created man in his own image, which set them apart from the rest of creation (Genesis 1:26). The Lord instructed the Apostle Paul that His people needed to come out from the world and be separate (2 Corinthians 6:17). He wanted them to understand that they were not their own anymore. Their bodies became the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The apostles laid the foundation with this teaching, but now in this day that we live in, if you notice, ministries are not really teaching the boundaries that the apostles taught. You hardly ever hear this kind of message, but thankfully there are a few that are faithful.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for all my family all over the world. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Deliverance, Who is pushing all of the demonic out. Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit would help us all to be separate, as the royal priesthood that we are called to be—Your chosen ones. Thank You, Lord, that right now Your Spirit is strong in each gathering. So have Your way with all Your people. In the name of Jesus, amen.
