Both Enoch and Noah were preachers of righteousness. They were very intense because they had to be separate from the corrupt world. Due to the perils of the time, they were forced to be this way; so are we in our present day.
THE PROCESS OF SEPARATIONTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
—2 Corinthians 5:17
We are separated because we have been bought. And the new creation that 2 Corinthians 5:17 is talking about here is the new birth, which is salvation or one’s spirit being born again. The process of separation starts right there, in your heart, then it's supposed to work out into your soul, which is your mind, will, and emotions, and then into your body.
Let’s examine the process of separation:
• Your spirit is born again instantaneously.
• You have to realize that your soul is not born again right away. Your mind and emotions will still have their own agenda at the start; therefore your mind must be renewed.
• Your body is certainly not born again, so it too will want to have its own way.
• Recognize that you have “two against one”, so there must be enough intensity in your spirit to surrender to God by saying “no” to what your soul and body want.
This is what I saw when I was in Heaven. This process of separation is not being taught. As Christians, we are supposed to have that intensity of the spirit where we can say no to ungodliness.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
—Titus 2:11-13
In this scripture, Paul teaches us to say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions. If the apostles taught the people in Scripture, then it is for us too. So it teaches us to say “no”. Again, the separation has already happened in our spirit, but then we have to say “no” to our bodies. We still must say “no” to our minds, will, and emotions.
We must draw lines and be separate.
All of these patriarchs, the prophets, and generals of the faith, had this intensity about them. They weren't going to budge, and that's why they were so effective. 2 Corinthians 5:17 speaks about the new birth, explaining that the old has passed and the new has come. You can see that a clear line is drawn. We should be intense, choosing not to live in our past, but only for what God has written about us.
THE INTENSITY OF GOD
Let’s take a moment to examine the intensity of God in creation. Genesis 2:1-15 describes the whole creation process. Each day God is intensely creating, realizing His desire for the universe by making something out of nothing, culminating with the creation of man and woman. Afterward, He states that everything is perfect. This isn't just a casual series of events. Creation was very intense as God set His plans and purposes in place.
Think about the fact that God has plans and purposes; He established systems as He intended them to be. He created man in his own image, which set them apart from the rest of creation (Genesis 1:26). The Lord instructed the Apostle Paul that His people needed to come out from the world and be separate (2 Corinthians 6:17). He wanted them to understand that they were not their own anymore. Their bodies became the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The apostles laid the foundation with this teaching, but now in this day that we live in, if you notice, ministries are not really teaching the boundaries that the apostles taught. You hardly ever hear this kind of message, but thankfully there are a few that are faithful.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You for all my family all over the world. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Deliverance, Who is pushing all of the demonic out. Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit would help us all to be separate, as the royal priesthood that we are called to be—Your chosen ones. Thank You, Lord, that right now Your Spirit is strong in each gathering. So have Your way with all Your people. In the name of Jesus, amen.
1. God established His plans and purposes on the earth, which included making us in His image. Why is it important for you to be set apart from the world? How can you relate to Enoch and Noah in this modern day?
2. We are triune beings, comprised of spirits, souls, and bodies. Discuss the process of separation. Why it is necessary to be so intense?
3. Genesis 2:1-25 gives the account of the creation of the universe. What do you observe about God’s personality in these verses?
4. How did Jesus deal with the enemy? Why is it important for us, like Jesus, to be aggressive with him?
5. 1 Peter 2:9 expresses how we have been called out of darkness into the marvelous light of God. Discuss your identity as a believer according to this scripture. Why is it important to understand that you are owned by God?
